A PRAYER FOR PRIESTS DRAWING ON SCRIPTURE FROM THE OLD & NEW TESTAMENTS

Father,
Thank you for our priests. Each morning, when they wake, renew their strength like the eagle’s. As they go about their day, fill them with the wisdom that comes from above—pure, peaceable, full of mercy and good fruits.

Be their constant comfort. When they are tired, uphold them with Your righteous right hand. When they walk through valleys of uncertainty and loneliness, show them that You are with them.

You have called them to be shepherds after Your own heart. Make them faithful stewards of Your mysteries, leading their flock by example. May their words bring life, their hands bring healing, and their presence bring peace.

Draw them ever deeper into the joy of their calling, so that each night as they sit with you in prayer, they hear again and again: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Amen.
